Multiple Agencies VS Bridge Jumping Suspects

On Thursday, December 28, 2023, at approximately 2215 hours, The Prowers Communication Center advised Bent County that the Lamar Police Department was in pursuit of a white Nissan Sedan, traveling westbound on county road HH entering Bent County.

Lamar advised that the vehicle turned north on County Road 34.5 and came to a stop on Prowers Bridge. The two occupants exited the vehicle and jumped off of the bridge and began moving east through the brush. One of the individuals was quickly apprehended by Lamar PD and Prowers County Deputies.

Colorado State Patrol, Bent County Deputies and Bent County Posse members arrived on scene and began searching for the second occupant.

The Hasty/McClave Ambulance Service was requested to treat the wounds of the apprehended individual that were a result of jumping off of Prowers Bridge.

The Prowers County Sheriff's Office deployed their drone and were able to locate what was believed to be the second suspect, laying in the brush east of Prowers Bridge. With guidance from the drone operator, law enforcement personnel were able to locate the second suspect.

The Lamar Ambulance service was requested to treat injuries on the second suspect that were a result of him jumping off of Prowers Bridge as well.

Both suspects were transported to Prowers Medical Center for further evaluation. This incident is being further investigated by Lamar PD.

We'd like to thank all the agencies for their assistance and teamwork throughout the handling of this incident.
