Colorado State Patrol Reports Fatal Crash on US Hwy 50 in Rocky Ford

The Colorado State Patrol responded to a single-vehicle crash on January 2, 2024 at 4:21 PM on US Hwy 50 near Milepost 370 in Otero County.

1 Vehicle

According to the Colorado State Patrol Public Information Officer, at this time alcohol and drugs are not suspected, however, excessive speed is suspected at this time.

Vehicle Description: Lexus ES

Driver 46 year old Female of Rocky ford, no restraint, ejected, suffered fatal injuries, pronounced dead on scene.

Passenger, 4 year old male of Rocky Ford, no restraint, ejected, transported to hospital for medical treatment.

Crash Report Narrative: Vehicle 1 was traveling eastbound on US Hwy 50. Vehicle 1 made an abrupt action to the right, causing the vehicle to rotate clockwise and leave the road, the vehicle continued eastbound, off-road, and rolled two times and came to rest on its wheels facing east.
