Obituary

Kathleen Ann Carson, 76, passed away peacefully at Crowley County Nursing Center in Ordway, CO on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. She was born, Sunday, August 3, 1947 in La Junta, Colorado to Kit & Alice (Mendyke) Carson.

Kathleen graduated from La Junta High School as valedictorian in 1965. Kathleen was a Professional Engineer (PE) and through the years she continued her education earning degrees from Colorado College, University of Colorado, Colorado State University, and the University of New Mexico. She also served in The United States Air Force with a rank of First Lieutenant.

After retirement from the State of Arizona, Kathleen moved to Pueblo and finally back to La Junta. She took great interest in her nieces and nephews and especially enjoyed genealogy research.

Kathleen is survived by her siblings, Glenn (Joanna) Carson of Nashville, TN; Rebecca Ray of Houston, TX; Christine Wynne of La Junta, CO; nieces & nephews, Christopher Carson; Kevin (Amber) Carson; Patricia (Dan Garner) Ray; Katie Ray; Cyndi Ray; James (Erin) Ray; Kerri (Barrett) Bender; Jake (Naomi) Wynne; Tara (Brandon) Wynne-Neugebauer; along with several great nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Zachary Wynne; and brother in-law, Keith Wynne.

There are no services planned at this time.
