National Hammered Dulcimer Champion Joshua Messick to Perform in La Junta on October 24

The National Champion of the hammered dulcimer, Joshua Messick, will play a Community Concert in La Junta's Picketwire Theatre at 7 pm on Thursday,

October 24. His wife Stephanie will join him, playing her Celtic harp. They will play original and folk pieces.

Joshua has released ten albums, has been a featured instrumentalist for films and video games, and has appeared in many music festivals across the country. This will be the release concert for his new album, "Wonderscape." The hammered dulcimer is an ancient string instrument, older than the piano. Joshua's dulcimer has five octaves, and the strings ring!
