Obituary

Bobbie Dean Covington, 66, of Swink passed away on January 9, 2021 at the UC Health in Aurora. He was born on June 19, 1954 in Pueblo to Richard L. & Ruth (Lewis) Covington.

Bobbie was a kind hearted, giving, and compassionate man. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. His mischievous smile and laughter was contagious and quickly spread to those around him. He was able to find humor in even the most difficult times. Bobbie found joy in bringing happiness to his family and friends. He departed this life but will live on forever in the hearts and memories of those dearest to him.

He is survived by his son, Brian (Amber) Covington of Swink; grandchildren, Emma & Daniel Covington; siblings, Joyce Butler, Ken Covington and Betty Lay’ longtime friend, Mark Waggoner; former spouse, Valerie Covington; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Ruth Covington; siblings, Bill Covington, Mary Mulinix and Jim Covington.

A memorial service will be Friday, January 22, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Valley Community Church with Kurt England officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Bent County Cemetery in Las Animas with military honors by the Las Animas American Legion Post #6.
