Obituary

Frankie Mae “Mickie” Rutherford, 92, of La Junta passed away on January 14, 2021 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. She was born on March 26, 1928 in Hill City, Kansa to Frank & Ruby Mae (Jones) Hunter. She married William Glen “Ole” Rutherford; he preceded her in death in 1972.

Mickie and Ole were owners of the Country Club in La Junta. Upon Ole’s passing she sold the Country Club. Then she worked in the cafeteria at OJC until her retirement.

She was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Mickie is survived by her sons, Patrick (Darlene) Rutherford of Pueblo West; Charles William Rutherford of La Junta; Bob (Elizabeth) Rutherford of Cheraw; John “Ed’ Rutherford of Arizona; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Hunter, Laverne Gibbs and Velma Williams. She
was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Donald, and grandson, Patrick.

As per Mickie’s request cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
