Rollover Crash On Highway 139 Closes Roadway

(Mesa County, Colorado) – September 21, 2026, at about 2:57 p.m., the Colorado State Patrol responded to the area of Highway 139 near milepost 33 (south of Rangely, Colorado, north of Fruita, Colorado) for a reported single-vehicle rollover off the roadway.

When troopers arrived on scene, they observed a white Toyota Tundra that rolled off the shoulder about 30-40 feet down an embankment. The driver, an 18-year-old male from Grand Junction, was out of the vehicle when troopers arrived and was taken to a medical facility for moderate-to-serious bodily injuries. 

The roadway was be closed for an extended period of time for the crash investigation and tow recovery. The Colorado State Patrol will lead the investigation. This is an active scene. Please visit COTrip.org for more information on the road closure.
