Las Animas Schools Superintendent Reports Covid-19 Cases 4-23-21
Update from Las Animas Superintendent Elsie Goines:
"Hello Las Animas Community. I want to come to you tonight and let you know that later this afternoon I was contacted by Bent County Public Health. We have two high school students who have tested positive for Covid-19. We have moved quickly to quarantine and isolate students that would be considered in close contact or within that cohort of students. One of the things that will happen is I will meet with Bent County Public Health tomorrow to discuss our cases in more detail, probably will spend this evening calling parents and notifying parents of the students that will be impacted. I anticipate that we will have a lot more things to do over the weekend and we will make sure we get information out to our parents and our families. Oh Yeah, the football game is still on for tonight, so get out there and support your Trojans."
"Update from LASD: Currently we have 2 positive cases of COVID-19 at the high school, additional testing will be done this afternoon at Bent County Public Health and once that is completed we’ll get additional information out. Thank you."
