Otero Faculty and Staff Seminar Series to Begin Fri Feb. 3

LA JUNTA — The first installment of the Otero Faculty and Staff Seminar Series will be held on Fri. Feb. 3 at 12:30 p.m. in the Learning Commons which is located inside Wheeler Hall on the Otero College Campus. Dr. Christopher Ward, psychology faculty, will be presenting, “Braving the Sea Change: An Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis of Counselors-in-Training Experience of Interpersonal and Intrapersonal Relationship Change.”

There are three additional dates and speakers planned.

  • Fri. March 3, Maureen Rikhof, Director of International Programs, will present, “Thrice in a Lifetime - Inclusion, expedition and tradition in the Grand Canyon.”
  • Fri. April 7, Mark Korbitz and Warren McClure, science faculty members, will present, “Fossils and Prehistoric Sphenodonts, Paleontological Survey in Southeast Colorado.”
  • Fri. May 5, Dr. Kimberly Munro will share, “Legends of the Hidden Temple(s): Ancestors, Saints & Religious Landscapes in the Ancient Andes. – Excavations in Cosma, Peru.”

This series is being presented by Dr. Kimberly Munro, Faculty Professional Development and Undergraduate Research Director, and the AIM Program. For those who may be familiar with the Lunch and Learn Series, this Seminar Series will be of a similar nature. Faculty or staff members from Otero will be presenting mini lectures on their research and experiences. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch or can purchase items from the Venom Pit Coffee Shop.
