Colorado Parks and Wildlife Shares Love of Fishing for Huck Finn Day

The Colorado Parks and Wildlife annually hosts free fishing days in communities across Southeast Colorado. In Las Animas the tradition is known as Huck Finn Day. Thanks to the generosity of Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the City of Las Animas every kid who participated went home with a prize. CPW Officers announced efforts to improve local fishing for Las Animas community members and handed out boxes full of prizes after the free fishing derby.

Improvements mentioned by Colorado Parks and Wildlife include building docks at the pond in Las Animas to make it more accessible for fishing.

There are still more Free CPW Fishing Events this season in Southeast Colorado.
