Kyle Wren of Swink Graduates Aviation School Before Earning His High School Diploma

Swink, CO - Senior Kyle Wren has accomplished something many dream of but few achieve at such a young age. Kyle, a student at Swink School, went flying over his school on April 1, 2023, after earning his private pilot certificate through Southern Colorado (SoCo) Flight Professionals out of Pueblo.

Kyle's journey began when his teacher, Mr. Scott "Chip" Eckhart, encouraged him to attend Wings Over the Rockies, an aviation museum in Denver that offers scholarship opportunities. Kyle, who has always been interested in flying, applied for and received a scholarship from the museum. With Mr. Eckhart's guidance, Kyle also participated in a S.T.E.M. Aviation class at Swink School.

After receiving the scholarship, Kyle trained at SoCo Flight Professionals, where he spent eight months earning his private pilot certificate. He credits his success to the support of his family, friends, and Mr. Eckhart.

"Kyle is one of the most inspiring students that I've had the pleasure of working with in all the years that I have taught in the state of Colorado," said Mr. Eckhart. "He is a leader among his peers, always lifting everyone up that he's around. Given an opportunity, he always takes advantage of it. I expect he will go very far, and we'll hear great things about him in the future. All you have to do is tell Kyle to go that direction, and he'll make it happen, bringing his classmates along with him," Eckhart said.

Surely Kyle's achievement will inspire other students to pursue their dreams and take advantage of the opportunities available to them in Southeast Colorado. Kyle's achievement is a testament to the importance of mentorship and education in the pursuit of your dreams.
