Obituary

Deloras Jean Hasty 92, passed away peacefully June 3, 2023, at the Bent County Health Care Center Nursing Home.

Jean was born Sept. 12, 1930, in La Junta Colorado to James and Ina Mickey. Jean was the youngest child and her siblings included Leroy, Grace and Bob.

Jean attended school in La Junta. Jean worked as a billing clerk for the City of La Junta Utilities Department and at AVRMC in the ER department. Jean was a talented singer and played guitar. When Jean was in her 40's she joined the BPW Fun Band and Sweet Adelines. Jean enjoyed traveling, working in her flower garden. Jean collected anything with a Hummingbird on it.

Jean was a wonderful mother, doting grandmother, who was thrilled to be called Nana. Nana was a very good cook and made many family meals. Jean cherished every moment she was able to spend with her family. The family has so many beautiful memories of their time spend with Nana. Jean asked for so little and gave so much to others.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, and husbands, Lavern Eubank and Gene Hasty.

Those left to cherish Jean's memory include her daughter, Linda Farra of Fountain Hills, Arizona; her only grandchild, Lori Whatley; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Vincent, Nevaeh, Arrianna; great, great-granddaughters, Chassity and Acelyn, all of La Junta, Colorado.

Family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Peacock Larsen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
