Obituary

Tammy Deason, 61, of Rocky Ford died August 22, 2023, at her home. Tammy was born in Lamar to Michael and Nona Deason. Tammy enjoyed collecting antiques, coins or anything that was unique. She loved plants and all animals including all the creepy crawling animals on our plant. She had a pet Flemish Rabbit named “Willow” along with 2 ducks names “Gerard Duckler” and “H. P. Duckcraft” and lots of chickens. She worked various jobs throughout her life. In the late 70’s she was with the Corps of Engineers at John Martin Reservoir. In the 80’s she worked as an OR tech at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. After that she worked at Bent’s Old Fort as an Indian reenactor. She also worked as a flagger doing road construction. Tammy was a unique person, and she loved all her friends and had so many of them, she cherished them all.

Tammy is survived by her 2 children: Andrew Deason of Rocky Ford Heather Deason ( Ron Bieker) of Holly, CO , Step-Son Lee Hotchkiss of Denver, CO (3 grandchildren: Zoey Sprueill, Elijah Bieker both of Holly, Ben Miner of Swink, her sister: Pam (Jim) Foxhoven of Cheraw, 2 brothers: Steve (Brenda) Deason of Lamar and Paul (Stephanie) Deason of Columbia, MO, 4 stepbrothers Geroge ( Marie) Penrod, Mike ( Jonni K) Penrod, John ( Gloria) Penrod & Bill ( Lisa) Penrod. 5 stepbrothers & stepsisters of the Powell family of Columbia, MO, stepmother: Bessie Deason of Columbia, MO, stepfather George Penrod of Rocky Ford, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Nona Penrod in 2020 and Father Michael Deason in 2023, stepbrother Robert Penrod in 2020 & and the love of her life Ronnie Hotchkiss in 2021 and numerous great friends.

Services will be held at later date at Union Valley Cemetery in Hasty Colorado.

Bellwood Ford Ustick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
