Motorcycle Cannonball Route Includes Southeast Colorado Sept. 17, 2023

The Motorcycle Cannonball is a cross country "gentleman's race" that honors Erwin "Cannonball" Baker's Transcontinental records, of which came through La Junta in the 19 teens and 20s.

The participating motorcycles are predominantly 1933 or older.

Apparently the route planner for The Great Race, is also the route planner for the Motorcycle Cannonball.

Chances are good that the Cannonball will follow the same route as The Great Race did.

On Sunday the 17th, they are scheduled to leave Garden City KS, lunch in Lamar, and end their day in Colorado Springs at the Rocky Mountain Motorcycle Museum.

The route legs are kept secret to maintain adherence to the route and ensure time accuracy. This type of race is about time accuracy. Points are deducted for being fast or slow to checkpoints.
