Lamar Fire Dept VS Landfill Fire

Yesterday at approximately 1802 Lamar Fire Department was notified of a fire at the City Landfill. On arrival, crews initiated fire attack.

During the attack, mutual aid was requested from Prowers County Rural Fire Department for water supply. When active flame was extinguished, fire was turned over to city landfill employees who covered the remainder with dirt. 

Lamar Fire would like to extend a thank you to Prowers County Rural Fire Department and the employees of the landfill for their assistance in fighting and containing the fire!
