Obituary

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our darling daughter, sister, granddaughter, auntie, niece, cousin and dear friend Nevaeh Ashlee Wanda Gallegos. She passed at the young age of 18. She sadly passed away at home in the early hours of Sunday October 15, 2023.This is the day that forever changed our lives. She is missed deeply by all who were blessed to know her. Nevaeh was born with Pulmonary Hypertension and many other illnesses that made her life very difficult. She fought so hard every single day of her life! Many didn’t know this because she fought daily with so much strength and even more grace. She graduated this year and was so proud that she pushed herself to the limits and walked across the stage to get her diploma. This was such a huge proud moment for all of us because her medical team didn’t believe she would make it as long as she did. She was a fighter, the strongest fighter anyone could ever know. It was difficult for her, but like everything else she pushed through and did it. She was the most caring loving person. She would always put someone else’s needs above her own. She would always check on everyone she loved and ask if they were ok and how they were doing. She never worried about herself and her battle. She made any room she walked in light up and she always had a smile on her face, even though she would hide her smile because she didn’t realize how amazingly beautiful it truly was. She was the funniest person you’d ever meet, and she had the best most distinctive laugh. She lived her life to make others feel loved and important. She fought her whole life with such grace, many people didn’t know hard her life truly was because she didn’t want people to see her struggle, she just wanted people to see her strength. She was the one to always make everyone around her feel loved and important. She was the biggest protector of all her family, nobody could mess with us because she wouldn’t allow it. She loved to draw pictures and she was really good at it with her own style, and she was so proud of every piece of artwork she created for family and friends. That was her way of showing people her love, by drawling them a picture and writing a special message with it to let you know how special and amazing everyone is and how much she truly loved them. She loved to listen to music and dance to TikTok’s. She was the TikTok queen before she got so sick, she unfortunately didn’t have the strength to do it anymore. She loved and cared for each and every person she knew. She loved everyone! She even prayed for the people who put her down because she was sick. It hurt her very much, but she still prayed for God to teach them to love her sickness and all because she loved everyone. She loved to play on her PS5 with her siblings, she loved to play Fortnite, and she was really good at it. Her PS5 was her pride and joy because it was one of her Make A Wish gifts. She loved animals and wanted to save every animal that was in need of a loving home and every animal loved her! She was like the animal whisperer. She loved to go fishing with all of us, going to the mountains was one of her favorite things to do. Towards the end of her life she wasn’t able to do much because she was so sick, but she would push through and do what she could so she can make amazing memories with us. She wanted to bring awareness to her disease to inform people what living life with PH was. She wanted to start a YouTube channel but didn’t have the strength for it all. She fought through all the pain, all the medical interventions and trust me there were a lot. She wore every scar on her body like a proud warrior. She was the greatest warrior to ever walk this earth. She was our baby and she loved harder than anyone I know. She was my (her mother) best friend. We did everything together. I was blessed to be able to be her caregiver and she was always so thankful for everything her father (Derek) I did for her. She was the best friend of many others too, but her best friend her right-hand man besides me was her little sister Xian. They did everything together! She was our light in this dark world and now she’s gone, but the amount of light she illuminated was so bright, it will continue to shine on. She will forever and always be our baby girl. She amazed me how she could be so sick, and she knew one day she wouldn’t have the strength to fight anymore, and the PH would win, and she would be called home to our Lord, but that didn’t stop her from bringing so much happiness to everyone around her. She didn’t tell very many people how bad she struggled because she was so strong, and she didn’t want her illness to be all that anyone seen. She fought hard because she had plans for the future and she was holding out for a cure so she could finally live her life to the fullest without any kind of hinderance. She loved and she loved hard. She was loved very much, and she had the greatest family and friend support through it all. Even though this is the hardest thing we’ve ever experienced Nevaeh can finally breathe easy now, our Lord called her home and we all must find some comfort within that. She had so many friends and family that loved her and she will forever be greatly missed.
