Obituary

Alfonso Anselmo Trujillo, 97, passed away on October 18, 2023, at Fowler Health Care in Fowler, CO. He was born on May 30, 1926, in Ocate, NM to Elena Trujillo. He married Perfelia (Atencio) Trujillo on August 7, 1948, at St. Mary Church in Del Norte, CO.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a ship-fitter during World War II on the USS Hancock ship. He worked 30 years as a Fork Lift Operator for PDA then he retired. He enjoyed watching KKTV Channel 11, watching the Denver Broncos Football, doing crossword puzzles, listening to Spanish music on YouTube and most of all spending time with all his family. He told everyone that came to his home that they were always welcomed, and this is your house. He will be missed by many.

He survived by his children Catherine (Thomas) Martinez of Pueblo, CO; Elaine Trujillo of Manzanola, CO; Jose(Gloria)Trujillo of Denver, CO; Sharon Valencia of Pueblo, CO; Charles(Eva) Trujillo of Lakewood, CO; Julia Ornelas of Rocky Ford, CO; Larry (Judy Padilla) Trujillo of Rocky Ford, CO; Albert (MaryAnn) Trujillo of Manzanola, CO; Lawrence (Irene) Trujillo of Lakewood, CO; Delfinia Trujillo of Pueblo, CO; Annette Martinez of Center, CO; Richard (Joyce) Trujillo of Center, CO. Son-in-Law Ernest(Teto)Encinias of Manzanola, CO; Sister Senaida Vigil of Denver, CO. 37 grandchildren; 87 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great grandchildren and 4 great, great great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Perfelia (Atencio) Trujillo; mother; children Felemon, Lucia, Rita, Bertha, and MaryAnn; son-in-laws Tomas Valencia, Fermin Ornelas, and Walter Martinez. Three grandchildren. 4 Brothers and 4 sisters.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 10am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial both services at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO with Father Joseph Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow at Mountainview Cemetery in Manzanola, CO.
