Obituary

Elizabeth “Liz” Gallegos of Rocky Ford, Colorado, entered into rest November 19, 2023 at UC Memorial Central Medical Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Liz was born in La Junta to Jennie and Natalio Ramirez, July 12, 1954. She was 69 years of age.

She is survived by her husband Gene Gallegos of Rocky Ford, Colorado, Children, Gene (Dakota) Gallegos Jr., Nicole (Ricky) Hernandez, grandchildren, Dominique (Andrue) Ornelas, Brandon Gallegos, Austin Gallegos, Braxton Gallegos and Brantley Gallegos, great-grandchildren, Romeo Ortiz, Armani Lucero and Eli Gallegos, sisters, Cee Cee Molina, Kathy Ramirez, brothers, Sam (Mary) Ramirez, David (Judy) Ramirez and Gary (Jennifer) Ramirez.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jennie and Natalio Ramirez, brothers, Nat Ramirez Jr., Jacob Ramirez, Robert Ramirez, sisters, Andrea Lasley, Roseann Ramirez Linda Diaz, In-laws Margarito and Anita Gallegos.

Liz embarked on a beautiful lifelong journey with the love of her life, Gene Gallegos, on May 30, 1973. Prior to their marriage, they shared two lovely years together. In addition to her deep affection for Gene, Liz held a profound love for Jesus Christ and devoted herself to assisting her church groups. She actively participated in St. Anthony's Catholic Circle and was a valued member of Busy Bees Catering. Liz's home was adorned with statues and saints, which held a special place in her heart. Every day, she found solace and strength in prayer. Maintaining close connections with her friends and family was of paramount importance to Liz, and she maintained constant communication with them. Known for her compassionate nature, Liz possessed exceptional listening skills and derived immense joy from helping others. She led a vibrant and active life, constantly engaged in various pursuits. Dressing up and dancing brought her immense pleasure, and she had an unwavering love for music.

Her infectious laughter and radiant smile were a testament to her zest for life. Liz was never hesitant to express her emotions and thoughts, and she possessed a resolute demeanor when the situation demanded it. While she cherished her canine companions, her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved family.
