La Junta Fire Department VS Belleview Garage Fire
At approx 6:53 pm we responded to 921 Belleview for a reported structure fire in a detached garage.
Upon arrival heavy smoke and fire showing from the backside of the garage. Two attack lines deployed to start knocking fire down and cooling another garage next door. Crews had to cut the garage door and force entry.
Crews then started extinguish remaining fire and conducted salvage and overhaul looking for hot spots.
The cause of the fire was from a heating mat to keep baby chicks warm.
