Obituary

Jerre Lynn (Stewart) Henderson was born in Austin, Texas, on September 25, 1945. She finally got her wish to go to Heaven on December 8, 2023. She was the first of 6 siblings born to Clyde and Aline (Murray) Stewart. She had many cousins that she loved as siblings, too.

Jerre married the love of her life, Donald Henderson, on November 17, 1963, which began her life as a Marine wife. She was very proud to be a Marine wife. Don always said she was such a strong person, taking care of the family whenever he was deployed, which was often. Part of her family were the dear, life-long friends she met in military life. Two couples, John and Veronica Frazier, and Jim and Vi Andrade, were Don and Jerre’s forever best friends. She had such a full life that there wouldn’t be enough room here to tell her whole story. She was a member of the Fowler United Methodist Church and loved her church family.

Jerre and Don had 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great, great- grandchildren. She loved all of her family so much.

Jerre is survived by her daughters, Jerre Brockett, Rhonda (Marvin) Thayer, and Cathy (Hugh) Richardson; siblings Lola (Gary) Pettitt, Stanley (Laura) Stewart, and Dorothy Stewart; brothers-in-law Gary Killinger, Warren Henderson, and Roy Henderson; grandchildren, Tyler (Kim) Norris, Randi (David) Hiner, Samantha (Cassie) Brockett-Cox, Conrad (Hanh) Brockett, Martin Dickerson, and Rachel Dickerson; great-grandchildren Bentley, Caleb, Liam, Elijah, AJ, Emmajen, Kambrea, Gabby, Conrad Jr., Matthew, Makayla, Octavia, Lincoln, Kaia, and Donnie; great, great-grandchildren Graycen and Corban; nieces and nephews Toni, Matt (Heather), Sheila, Kelly, Connie, Patty, and Nancy (Robert); and many beloved cousins.

Jerre was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Henderson; parents Clyde and Aline Stewart, in-laws Vergil and Flora Dee Henderson; sister Marie Sallie and brother Clyde Stewart; sister-in-law Jeanie Killinger; nephew Aaron Pettitt; great-granddaughters Chloe and Mary.

A memorial service will be Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fowler United Methodist Church with Reverend Julie King-Dye officiating.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
