Obituary

Carol Pacheco, 73, of Rocky Ford, went to heaven to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family on December 10, 2023 at her home. She was born July 10, 1950, in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Irene Caroline Thesing and Leonard Charles Slocum. Carol moved to Rocky Ford in 1981, where she was a pastor’s wife at the First Wesleyan Church in Rocky Ford and in Lamar. She worked as a homemaker for her family. She was hard working, enjoyed raising seven children, loved the holidays and collecting anything with watermelon on it. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Carol said her greatest accomplishment was accepting Jesus Christ as her Savior.

She is survived by her children, Randy Slocum of Rocky Ford, Myra Pacheco of Rocky Ford, Rachel (Heath) Showalter of Colorado Springs, CO, Jason (Sedalia) Pacheco of La Junta, Holly Pacheco (Adam Torrez) of Rocky Ford, and Sandy (Neal) Wall of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren, Wesley, Lesley, Christopher, Olivia, Henry, Autumn, Caden, Connor, Grace, Faith, Tino, Celeste, Jordyn, Avery and Jade; great-grandchildren, Maizy Jane and Reece. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Timothy, and husband, Ramon Pacheco.

A memorial service will be on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene in Rocky Ford with Reverend Paul Farrell officiating.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
