Obituary

Billy Jack Hawkins, 74, of Williamsburg, Colorado passed away on December 24, 2023, at home surrounded by his loved ones. Billy Jack was born on February 12, 1949, in Las Animas, Colorado. Billy Jack proudly served his country in the Army. His military service was a source of great pride for him. He was known for his love for life, his humor, his stories, hunting, fishing, cooking, and singing. Above all else - his love for the Lord.

Billy Jack will be deeply missed by his wife of 30 years, Donnita; his children, Julian Hawkins of Pueblo, Sam (Kristin) Franklin of Swink, Crystal Franklin of Penrose, Preston (Brianna) Franklin of La Junta, and Misty Smith of Canon City; siblings; Joe Bob (Cecilia) Hawkins, Monte Hawkins,  Cash Hawkins,  Vicky (Bobby) Denton, Luanne (Johnny) Netik, Neva Dawn Tucker and Patty Hawkins, 8 grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends.

Billy Jack was a member of Oak Creek Southern Baptist Church, the VFW, DAV, and a lifetime member of the NRA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Alice Joanne Hawkins; his son Billy Hawkins Jr., as well as his nephew, James, and niece, Jessica.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 10:00 am at the Oak Creek Southern Baptist Church in Rockvale.

He will be laid to rest in the hallowed grounds of Pikes Peak National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to UC Health Cancer Care - Anschutz Medical Campus.

Billy Jack's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
