Obituary

Micah was born January 2nd, 2004 to Autumn Tafoya and Ethan Harkness. At the very young age of 7 months old, Barrett Reece came into his life and quickly became his father. At the age of 7, Micah was legally adopted by Barrett and lived the rest of his life as Micah Dakoda Reece. Micah lived an adventurous life and loved to find solitude on his motorcycle. On Saturday, December 30th, 2023, Micah lost control of his motorcycle and was taken from us suddenly while doing what he loved. Micah was just 3 days away from his 20th birthday.

Micah is survived by his mom, Autumn Tafoya. His dad, Barrett Reece. Brother, Seth Reece. Aunts, Audrey Tafoya and Destini Foster. Uncle Jesse Reece as well as grandparents Robert and Sally Tafoya and Deryl and Marylane Schibblehute. Not to mention the cousins, great aunts and uncles, extended family and friends.

Micah had a beautiful outlook on life. Always joking, smiling and willing to help out if needed. He never let fear of failing keep him from trying new things and he was always looking for ways to improve himself for the better. He had a heart of gold and was always there for his family and friends. His passing will be felt deeply throughout the community as he made an impact on everyone he met.

Micah was the kind of person who inspired many. His hard work and dedication to everything he did in life was admired by many and appreciated by every coach that ever had the privilege of having Micah on their team. He was good at everything he attempted and excelled at things he enjoyed.

He was as brave as he was strong and "impossible" wasn't a word that ever crossed his lips. He was smart enough to know he could achieve anything through hard work and determination, yet humble enough to know there was always room for improvement. He had a smile that could brighten even the darkest of days and hugs that possessed superpowers. Hugs that could heal the soul. To know Micah was to love him. His goofy personality and silly things he said would keep you on your toes. Everyone he knew has different memories and stories about Micah. He has touched more lives with joy, smiles and laughter in his short time on earth than most will ever get the chance to in a long lifetime. It’s for all of these things, Micah, that you will be missed forever. Our lives will never be the same. Thank you for sharing your love and happiness with the world. I will aspire to be more like you every day. Thank you for letting us know you. Thank you for letting us love you. But most of all, Thank you for being my son. I'll love and miss you forever, Mom.

A memorial service will be Friday, January 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Daniel Blackwell of the Victorious Church in Swink officiating.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
