City of Trinidad Newly Elected Officials Take Oath of Office

On Tuesday, January 2nd at the first Trinidad City Council meeting of 2024, the Honorable John Mochel, Las Animas County Judge, administered the Oath of Office to Karen Griego as Mayor, Franklin Shew, Aaron Williamson and Manuel Trujillo as Council Members.

Additionally, Aaron Williamson was appointed Mayor Pro Tem, Naemon Thurman as the Golf Association Liaison and Karen Griego to the CML Policy Committee.

Judge Pamela Nelson was reappointed to her seat as the City of Trinidad's Municipal Judge. The City Council appointee to replace Karen Griego's vacant seat will be filled after interviews at the next City Council Work Session on Monday January 8th at 3:00PM MST at City Hall.

Earlier in the meeting, Mayor Rico thanked the public and staff for his term in office and left with some beautiful gifts of appreciation from staff and the incoming Mayor, Karen Griego. We look forward to a successful 2024 under the leadership of our new administration.
