Obituary

Stella Rosella Florez was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on January 3, 2024, at Pioneer Health Care Center. She was surrounded by the love of family and passed peacefully.

Stella was born in La Junta, Colorado on July 9, 1945, to Joe R. Florez and Lore Stein Florez. Stella worked as a CNA-Certified Nurse Aide, as well as a phlebotomist. She went to Otero Junior College, Pueblo Community College, and Pikes Peak Community College.

Stella is survived by her brother, Gregorio Florez and her sister, Gloria Florez Rocha. She leaves behind her children, Lorie (Ronald) Beck; Ginger; Amy (Mario) Torres; Petey Otero; Christopher (Cynthia) Otero; and Tony-Kira Otero; her grandchildren, Amanda, Devon, Xandria, J’son, Cristina, Daniel, Iliana, Lucas, Tony Jr., Jerica, Jayse; great-grandchildren, Sean and Cyrus; numerous nieces, nephews and extended loving family members also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Alfred, Tony, and Roger Florez; sister, Mary Rose Martinez; grandson Danial Trujillo.

The memorial service for Stella will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the Peacock Memorial Chapel. Please join us for a Catholic prayer at 9:30 a.m., the funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome for the reception following services at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St Patrick Catholic Church Hall.
