Obituary

Doug, as he was known to most, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 11, 2023.  He was 79.

He was born on Tuesday, October 5, 1943 to Maudie (Stout) and Leroy Epps. The youngest of 3 children, he attended and graduated in 1961 from Rocky Ford Schools.  He joined the U.S. Navy soon after and was given an Honorable Discharge in May, 1967.  

He married MaryAnn Martinez in January of 1966, and they had 4 children.

Doug is survived by his sister, Goldie Dyess; Ex-Wife, MaryAnn Epps; Children JoLynn Sisk (Johnnie Zamora), Deneen Whatley (Jon Hutchinson), Charles D. Epps Jr, Brandon Epps(Kimberlee Vigil); Grandchildren, Ashleigh Epps, Jared Sisk, Jaden Sisk, Arryn Sisk, Jacqueline Aguero, Joshua Montoya, Aletha Meehan, Devyn Epps, Trinity Epps, Braydon Epps, Kalieanna Epps and Landon Epps; Great grandchildren, Alexis Whatley, Austin Espinosa, Khloee Jiron, Jude Gibson, Liam Ward, Mason and Vivianna Epps, Jillian Whatley, Kayden Albo, Zanden Albo, Jace Johnson, Jarik Johnson, Karissa Alonzo, Amari Davis, Yasir Davis, Elijah Sisk, Everleigh Sisk, Ava Argyle; Great-Great grandchildren, Nolan Davey, Noella Davey; Nieces Debra Kullman, Kelly Dyess, Amy Hoffmeyer; Nephew David Dyess.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Al Epps, sister and brothers in law, Sadie Martinez, Gilbert Martinez, and Jim Dyess; Granddaughters Jennifer Epps and Amber Whatley; Great granddaughter Katelyn Epps; Nephews Steven Dyess and Troy Epps.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Pikes Peak National Cemetery Tuesday, March 12th at 11am.
