Obituary

Delfinia Madrid-Barber, 61, of Rocky Ford, Colorado, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 1, 2024.

Del was born in Rocky Ford, CO on July 6, 1962, a daughter of Mary Antonia (Esquibel) Madrid and the late Jose Garfield Madrid, SR. She graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1981 and attended OJC in La Junta, CO for nursing.

Del was a loving mother to her children, Anthony Martinez, Suzanne Martinez, wife of Justin Willis, and Antoinette Martinez, as well as a loving grandmother to her grandchildren, Zachaeus Martinez and Summer Willis.

In early years she loved cooking, baking, roller skating, helping people, dancing, laughing, and fellowshipping with her family and friends, doing arts and crafts, had a wonderful sense of humor, loved talking about God, and watching sports.

She is survived by her mother: Mary Madrid of Fort Collins, CO; sister Delia, wife of Manuel Pantoya, of Broomfield, CO; brother Richard, husband of Rosemary Madrid, of Lakewood, CO; sister Shirley, wife of Carlos Ortega, of Lakewood, CO; brother Mario Madrid, of Colorado Springs, CO; sister Lydia, wife of Mark Stiles, of Lakewood, CO; sister Patricia, wife of Daniel Cruz, of Colorado Springs, CO; brother Marcus Madrid, husband of Don Randall, of Fort Collins, CO. Delfinia is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. She was survived also by a dear family friend who adored her, LaTonya Marshall.

A 10:00 A.M. Christian Memorial Mass at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, will be on Thursday April 11, 2024, with a viewing at 9 am, a rosary at 9:30 A.M.
