Obituary

Vicki Herdt, 67, of Thornton, CO went to be with her Lord on Monday July 8, 2024. Vicki was born in Rocky Ford, CO on October 7th, 1956, to Herbert and Dorothy (Kassebaum) Paugh. Vicki graduated from Manzanola High School in 1974. Shortly after High School, she moved to Denver and started working at King Soopers where she met the love of her life Rob. They were married on August 29th, 1982, soon after they had 2 sons - Scott Robert and Steven Michael. Over the years she had a few jobs, even running a small business but her favorite of them all was being a mom at home with her family. Family was the absolute center of her life. After retiring she began her ultimate job as a full-time grandma to Scarlett. She truly cherished their special time together; she lived for that little girl! She was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed attending events for granddaughter, her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Her greatest joy was supporting her family and embracing each moment with them. She loved a mean game of cards, a cup of coffee, and a cherry chip cookie. She was an incredible gift giver and always found something special for everyone. From a specific dessert for your birthday dinner to the smallest of details, she was always thoughtful.

She is survived by sons Scott (Kassie) and Steve Herdt, granddaughter Scarlett Herdt, of Thornton CO. Sister Jeanne (Gary) Bates, of Manzanola CO and Gloria Herdt of Thornton CO. She is also survived by nephews and nieces; Tim (Michele) Bates, Becky Hershey, Mary (Justin) Osborne, Jason (Hanna) Bates, Cindy (Cory) Kreft, Kimberly (David) Hoffman, Krystal Arellano, Kurt Paugh, Davey Herdt, Tracy (Brian) Bowman. Great nephews and nieces; Tate (Jessica) Hershey, Ty (Katie) Hershey, Jayden (Clay) Roweth, Taylor Osborne, Madi Bates, Jordan Bates, Gracie Osborne, Jaslyn Bates, Kenzie Kreft, Ashtyn Kreft, Huxton Kreft, Duncan & Brianne Habinck, Ryleigh Paugh, Shelby and Blaine Bowman. Great-great nephew Grayson Hershey. Vicki was preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend: Rob; parents: Herb and Dorothy Paugh, brother: Howard Paugh.

Vicki’s favorite color was blue. Please wear blue to her Celebration of Life.

If love could have saved her, she would have lived forever.
