Our beloved sister Marilyn Gloria Gallegos affectionately known as Lodia, born May 8,1949 in San Luis, Colorado, sadly left us on July 12, 2024 following a lengthy illness at the age of 75.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Servando Gallegos of Las Animas; stepdaughter, Rosie (Kin Wayman) Crespo of Las Animas; sisters, June (Ted) Hibpshman of San Diego, Leila (George) Castillo, Marie (Tom) Richards all of Albuquerque; brothers, Robert (Arleen) Martinez of Albuquerque, Anthony (Alicia Acevez) Martinez of Irvine, as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Orlando Martinez; mother, Maria Bernice Martinez; brothers, Ruben, Steve, Greg; and infant sister, Mary.

Marilyn grew up in Las Animas. She lived in California for several years and later returned home to Colorado.  She was a homemaker and also worked outside her home for many years.  Her greatest hobby and joy was her love for music, especially Elvis Presley, traveling twice to Graceland. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping, and dancing.  The color purple was special to Marilyn.  She lived life to the fullest, sharing love and laughter with family and friends.  Marilyn was forever young and a self-described “SPRING CHICKEN”.

Her love and compassion for her family was demonstrated in the care of her parents in their time of need in their later years.  Marilyn will be remembered for her kindness, gentle nature, big heart, great sense of humor, and infectious laughter.  Marilyn will be deeply and sadly missed.
