CDOT begins signal replacement project on US 50 in La Junta

PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT — 

OTERO COUNTY- The Colorado Department of Transportation and contract partner Arrow Electric have started a signal replacement project at US 50 and Conley Road in La Junta. Work will include the removal and installation of traffic signal equipment, poles, mast arms and vehicle detection upgrades at the intersection.  Additional work includes removing and installing curb, gutter, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramps. The new ramps will be in compliance with the Public Right of Way Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG) requirements. 

Travel Impacts:

Traffic impacts on US 50 and Conley Road will consist of single lane closures and speed limit reduction to 55 mph.

Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.

Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.

Watch for workers. Drive with caution.

Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so

Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.

Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.

Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.

Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.

Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.

Be patient!
