Registration for Spring Semester at Otero College Now Open

LA JUNTA — Registration for Spring Semester at Otero College began on Oct. 18, 2021. Spring classes will begin the week of Jan. 10, 2022.

New students can call or visit campus anytime between now and Jan. 7, 2022 to learn how to connect with an advisor, complete any placement testing they may need to do, and get connected with financial aid representatives. Returning students are encouraged to schedule a meeting with their academic advisor or Student Services staff before registering for Spring Semester.

“Returning students should take advantage of the opportunity to register early,” said Rana Brown, Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs. “A Reenrollment Fair will take place on Oct. 21 to facilitate this process and allow students to register for classes,” she said. “We have courses that fit many needs for traditional and non-traditional students including day and evening courses as well as hybrid and online courses.”

Financial Aid information is also available at the Student Services Center. Amber Asbury, financial aid director shared that aid is readily available for the spring semester. She hopes that students will not let financial hardships prevent them from attending college. The financial aid team has many resources that will assist students in paying for courses. Students can stop by their office in McBride Hall or call the main line to set up an appointment.

Otero College offers four transferable degrees with multiple concentrations and 32 certificates. These include the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees, as well as Associate of Applied Science degrees, Associate of General Studies, and Career and Technical Education certificates that prepare students to enter the workforce with a specific skill and certification.
