Wheels2Work Cheraw Student Passport Winners!

Trucks and work vehicles rolled into the Tiger Gym parking lot on October 6, 2021, to expose 7th and 8th grade students to career opportunities in their community.

Cheraw students were tasked to interview drivers about their lives, work environment, and how the machines work.

The students who completed the assignment were eligible to win prizes from SoCo Froyo, Sonic, and Graphic Designs.

The following Cheraw students who won the drawing: Dustee Faus, Lei Lani Marquez, and Caitlin Provost.

The first Arkansas Valley Wheels to Work event was coordinated by the Santa Fe Trail BOCES Pathway to Prosperity project in collaboration with the La Junta Workforce Center and other community partners.  This event was made possible because of RISE Grant funds.

Small grants from the La Junta Advanced Manufacturers and the Colorado Workforce Center assisted in organizing this career exposure event.  A special Thank you to Rick Klein and the City of La Junta for supporting this event.
