Obituary

Cynthia Kay (Rounds) “Cindy” Huff, 68, passed away on December 17, 2021, at the Center of Park West in Pueblo with her daughter, Heather by her side. She was born on May 6, 1953, in La Junta to Kenneth & Dortha (Carnal) Rounds.

Cindy graduated from La Junta High School in 1971. Cindy raised her three children Cherri, Harry JR and Heather by herself. Cindy loved her family, and they were her top priority. Cindy worked over 30 yrs. in retail before retiring as an assistant manager with Rite–Aid Drug store.

Cindy had many hobbies: she was a bowler and she bowled in a league when she was younger. She crocheted blankets. She loved to read books and would read a book before going to bed. She enjoyed painting ceramics, doing Sudoku puzzles, coloring, playing cards and board games with her family. Cindy and her family would go to Water World, the Colorado Rockies baseball games, play miniature golf, and camp together.

Cindy was a traveler in her life. She would make trips to New York to see her father, step – mother (Eileen) and brother (Kevin) who lived there. She would travel for her job as well. Her children kept her busy traveling due to them being in the military or being married to a service member. One of her favorite places was Hawaii where she was able to go to a few times to see her daughter.

Cindy is survived by her mother, Dortha McLain of La Junta; sister, Jeanette (Jerry) Martinez of La Junta; brother, Thomas McLain of Buena Vista; daughters, Cherri Smiley of Las Animas; Heather (Terry) Caldwell of Colorado Springs and son, Harry Huff, Jr. of Pueblo. She had several grandkids, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Rounds; stepfather, Melvin McLain; brothers, Steven McLain and Kevin Rounds; grandparents, Melvina & Thomas Carnal and Mary & Harold Porter; and uncle, Edward Carnal.

Cindy loved and adored all of her family; they were the world to her. They loved and adored her too. They miss her dearly.
