Obituary
Isabel “Chabelo” Campos, 79, passed away on January 28, 2022. He was born on November 19, 1942, in La Junta, Colorado to Cristobal and Teresa (Maldonado) Campos.
Isabel attended La Junta High School. He previously worked for many years at Kit Carson Hotel. He had a love of music and was a talented singer. Early in his life, he volunteered as a disk jockey for a La Junta radio station, where he played Spanish music. Isabel was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.
Isabel is survived by his brother, Joe Chris (Rosaura) Campos of Las Animas; nieces and nephews, Crucita, Patsy, Chris, Betty, Susie, Johnny, Jessie, Sarah, Cristina and Lisa. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jose Campos, Andres Campos, John Campos; sister, Crecencia Campos, and nephew, Joe Campos, Jr.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 9:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. both services at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Victor Raj officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in La Junta. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
