Andrita “Ann” Medina Orosco

October 27, 1976 – June 5, 2022

On Sunday, June 5, 2022, Andrita “Ann” Medina Orosco, loving mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at the age of 89. Ann (also known as “Annie”) was born on October 10, 1932, in Holman, New Mexico to Jose Miguel Arsenio “Mike” Medina and Maria Salazar.

Ann had a passion for taking care of others. She worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant for forty years at the La Junta Mennonite Church and La Junta Nursing Care Center. Once she retired, she served students and teachers at the La Junta Primary School as a Grandparent Volunteer. She enjoyed going to church, visiting with others, listening to hymns and Spanish music, quilting at the La Junta Mennonite Church, going for walks, being an AVON representative and visiting her children.

Ann was preceded in death by her father, Mike Medina, her mother, Rachel Medina, and sister, Priscilla Archuleta. She is survived by her five children, Lydia Ontiveros (Glenn Moore) of Brighton, CO, Daniel Ontiveros (Regina Castaneda) of Lovettsville, VA, Annette Ontiveros (Rick Medina) of Manitou Springs, CO, Michael Orosco (Maria Rojas) of Lawrence, KS, and Rafael Orosco (Ashley Orosco) of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Lucas Ontiveros Moore, Rebekah Ontiveros, Sally Ontiveros, Miles Ontiveros Medina, Andres Orosco, Alyssa Orosco, Emilia Orosco, Aneesa Orosco, Elias Orosco, Everett Orosco, and Elliott Orosco.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the La Junta Emmanuel Mennonite Church. Burial services will be held at the Fairview Cemetery. As Ann always said, “May God Bless You.”
