1.      Colorado School Safety Resource Center (CSSRC):  The Colorado Department of Public Safety (Home | Department of Public Safety (colorado.gov)) has a wealth of information on school safety.  Topics range from emergency crisis and management, student safety, positive school climate, and behavioral health supports.  To take advantage of this info, please see the first attachment and navigate your web browser to here:  Home | School Safety Resource Center (colorado.gov)

2.      Veterans’ Resource Fair:  On Wednesday, August 10th, 2022 there will be a Veterans’ resource fair from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the La Junta Senior Center (located at 114 East 2nd Street in La Junta).  Veterans can ask about their earned benefits and services. Eligible Veterans may get enrolled and schedule their first appointment, or ask about community care consults, caregiver support, and home-improvement grants.  Local providers can ask about partnering with the VA through TriWest. Community leaders can learn more about partnerships in suicide prevention and explore ways to work with the VA to keep Veteran homelessness rare and brief.  After the resource fair, VA ECHCS Director Michael Kilmer will kick off a public town hall at 5:30 p.m. to connect directly with local Veterans, providers, and community leaders and openly discuss area needs.  More information can be found in the second attachment.

VETERANS, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!
