Howard Meadows Jr

Obituary

Howard Clarence Meadows Jr. ,64, of Olney Springs went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 24,2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 21,1958 to Howard Clarence Meadows Sr and Frances M. (Shepherd) Meadows in Pueblo, Colorado.

Howard grew up in Olney Springs, CO. He married Lisa May (Hodgs) Meadows on September 10, 1983. The first year of their marriage was spent in Missouri, where they had their first child Matthew Meadows. Upon moving back to Colorado they had their second child Laura Meadows. Howard had a love for driving and traveling, finding a way to support his family through over the road trucking for 16 years. After years of trucking he found himself longing to be at home with his family and obtained a job with the Ary Corporation at the All Rite Paving & Redi Mix in La Junta, Colorado where he continued to work until his Cancer diagnosis.

Throughout the years Howard has dedicated himself to serving God and the community. When he had spare time you could find him driving around visiting friends or out camping with his family and dogs. Howards love of cars, fishing, camping and hunting took him outdoors in every season often prompting tales of adventure and shenanigans. His quick wit and infectious smile made him a beloved member of the community and his presence will be missed.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents Howard Clarence Meadows Sr and Francis M. Meadows, brother-in-law Wayne Hodgs, and sister-in-law Sylvia (Hodgs) Owen.

Howard is survived by his wife, Lisa Meadows, Matthew (Sara) Meadows of Pueblo and Laura Meadows of Greeley; sister, Sherrill Meadows of Tigard, Oregon; mother-in-law June Hodgs; brother-in-law, Larry (Tonya) Hodgs; sister-in-law, Wanda (Hodgs) Hardy; brother-in-law, Kerry (Marcia) Hodgs; brother-in-law Sidney (Colleen) Hodgs; grandchildren Braxton and Breanna Hopper and many nieces and nephews.
