8/27/2022

Deputies responded to the 200 block of sixth street in Las Animas for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were able to locate the activity. Both parties had permission to be there. 

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County road 15 in Las Animas for the report of a fire alarm. Deputies discovered the alarm was going off due to the storm in the area.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Bent Avenue in Las Animas for the report of 911 misdial.  Deputies were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies responded to the area of County Road 35 and County Road JJ for the report of haystack fire. Deputies controlled the scene until fire personnel arrived.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Vigil for a vehicle lock out. Deputies were able to unlock the vehicle without issues. 

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of CR GG.5 on a report of lost property. Deputies advised the party how to report the lost property online. 

Deputies responded to the 200 block on a report of damaged property. This case was already being handled by another deputy, so all information was sent to him. 

Deputies responded to the 32000 block of highway 196 for a burglary alarm. Deputies determined the alarm to be false. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Moore Ave on a report of threats. Deputies found this to be a phone scammer and advised the party to block the number. Deputies explained how phone scams worked to the parties. 

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of county road 10.5 in Las Animas for the report of a juvenile problem. Deputies advised all parties that breaking house rules was a civil problem.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and County Road 7.5 in Las Animas for the report of a dangerous driver. Deputies were able to locate the vehicle and advised them their slow rate of speed was causing a danger. 

Deputies responded to highway 50 and mile marker 426 in Las Animas to assist other agencies. 

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Bent Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a fire alarm. Deputies discovered it to be a false alarm.

8/28/2022

Deputies responded to Highway 50 mile and marker 403 in Las Animas for the report of a vehicle lockout. Deputies were able to unlock the vehicle. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Elm Ave for an address verification of a sex offender.  Deputies wrote an arrest warrant for the party.

Deputies responded to Hwy 50 and MM 413 for livestock out on the highway. Deputies were unable to locate any livestock.

Deputies responded to the area of County Road 24 and County Road PP for a person with an active warrant. Deputies took one party into custody and transported the party to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the 31,000 block of County Road 10.5 for a juvenile problem.  Deputies spoke with all parties and advised it was a civil issue.

Deputies responded to the 200 block for trespassing. Deputies are investigating.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 20.75 in Hasty, Colorado for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS with the patient.

Deputies responded to the 31000 block of County Road 10.75 in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of a family disturbance. Deputies were able to help the family come to an agreement.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Grove Avenue for the report of a family disturbance. Deputies were able to assist the family with coming to an agreement.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of St Vrain Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Ash Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for a 911 misdial. Deputies were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 1st Street in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of an unwanted party. Deputies determined that it was a civil issue.

8/29/2022

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Vigil Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County Road GG.5 for a party with an active warrant.  Deputies took one party into custody.

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 194 and County Road 7 for livestock out on the highway.  Deputies assisted in getting the cattle back into the pasture.

Deputies responded to the 200 block for a report of trespassing. Deputies investigated and determined the party did not trespass on the property.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Ambassador Thompson Boulevard for a burglary alarm. Deputies determined everything to be okay.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th St. for a report of theft. Deputies are investigating.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the 700 block of Carson Avenue. Deputies arrested one male party for driving a vehicle with a revoked license.

Deputies were notified to return a phone call about harassment. Deputies spoke with the party and let the party know it was a civil matter.

Deputies responded to the intersection of 9th Street and Carson Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for an agency assist. Deputies blocked traffic for that agency.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Locust Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of a missing child. Deputies located the child and returned them home to their family.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Carson Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS with loading the patient into the ambulance.

Deputies responded to the 28000 block of County Road 7 in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of stolen weapons. Deputies are currently investigating.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th Street in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of an ambulance assist. Deputies arrived on scene and conducted CPR on the patient until EMS arrived on scene. Deputies then assisted EMS with loading the patient into the ambulance.

8/30/2022

Deputies responded to the 1600 block of West 6th street on a report of a dog hit by a car. Deputies assisted the owner in getting the dog into a vehicle to be taken to the vet. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Grand Ave on a report of a dog running at large. Deputies contacted the owner and gave them a warning that dogs are to be on a leash or fenced in. 

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 6th street on a report of a suspicious person. Deputies were unable to locate the party involved. 

Deputies responded to the intersection of 4th Street and Carson Avenue for a report of dogs at large. Deputies were unable to locate the dogs.

8/31/2022

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of Locust Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS with the patient.

Deputies responded to Maple Ave and 2nd street on a report of an elderly citizen that walked away from the nursing home. The party was located and returned to the nursing home.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of CR GG.5 to assist the ambulance. Party was loaded and taken to the hospital in La Junta.

Deputies observed a male party with an active warrant at the 700 block of 3rd Street. Deputies took one male party into custody. 

Deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 101 and County Road H in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of livestock in the highway. Deputies were able to get the livestock back in their pasture.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th Street in Las Animas, Colorado for a building alarm. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the area of County Road HH and County Road 33.5 for the report of a haystack fire. Deputies assisted the Fire Department with the fire.

9/1/2022

Deputies responded to highway 50 and County Road 7.5 on a report of a suspicious person. Deputies found the party to be on the side of the road, out of gas. 

Deputies responded to the 500 block of 5th street for found property. Deputies collected the property and will hold it according to policy.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Locust Ave to assist the ambulance. The patient was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta.

Deputies responded to and conducted a welfare check. 

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Maple Ave on a report of loud music. Deputies patrolled the area and were not able to hear any music. 

Deputies responded to the corner of 4th and Vine Ave on a report of an elderly party that is refusing to go back to the nursing home. Deputies assisted the staff in getting the party back to the nursing home, and in keeping them out of the middle of the roadways. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of St.Vrain Ave on a report of a 911 hang-up. Deputies found this to be an accidental mis-dial. 

Deputies responded to 300 Grove Ave on a report of a juvenile problem. Parties were spoken too, and agreed to separate from each other. 

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Elm Ave to assist the ambulance. The patient was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta. 

Deputies responded to the 28000 block of county road 10.75 in Las Animas for the report of public service. Deputies were able to locate the family grave. 

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Maple Avenue in Las Animas for the report of medical assistance. Deputies helped load the patient.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 1st street in McClave for the report of threats being made. Deputies investigated the matter and found that the texts were coming from a spam number.

9/2/2022

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Elm Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a misdial. Deputies were unable to locate the person.

Deputies responded to the highway 50 and Mile marker 398 in Las Animas for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were able to locate the party and determined that they were just out for a walk.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Bent Ave for a burglary alarm. Deputies arrived and it was determined to be a false alarm.

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 194 and MM 17 for livestock out on the highway. Deputies assisted the owner in getting livestock back into the pasture.

Deputies responded to the area of 4th and Moore Ave for a report of possible animal abuse. Deputies investigated and determined there was no animal abuse.

Deputies responded to the area of 5th and Moore Avenue for a stuck vehicle. Deputies assisted the stuck vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Grand Avenue for ambulance assistance. Deputies assisted ambulance personnel.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of 5th St for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted ambulance personnel.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 15 for ambulance assistance. Deputies assisted ambulance personnel.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Grand Avenue for a welfare check. Deputies spoke with the party and determined everything to be okay.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 15 for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted ambulance personnel.

Deputies responded to the highway 50 and mile marker 19 in Las Animas for the report of a dog at large. Deputies were unable to locate the dog.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Street in Las Animas for the report of a vehicle lockout. Deputies unlocked the vehicle. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Vine Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a civil matter. Deputies explained that they needed to talk to their doctor.

Deputies responded to the Highway 101 and mile marker 11 in Las Animas for the report of Brush Fire. Deputies helped with traffic control.
