April 18, 1951 - January 5, 2023

 

Obituary

Charles Salvador Trujillo from Rio Rancho, New Mexico entered into rest on January 5, 2023 at his home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Charlie as he was known by many, was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on April 18, 1951. He was 71 years of age.

Charlie lived in Las Animas, Colorado for many years, later returning to the Albuquerque, New Mexico area to live in Rio Rancho. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol of the family home. He is also survived by three sons, Jeremy Trujillo (Larry) Pueblo, Colorado, Jason Trujillo (Angelita) from Apache Junction, Arizona, Eric Trujillo (Cynthia) Brighton, Colorado, stepchildren, Robert Fay (Teresa) Richard Fay (Miggie) Tracy Lucus and Gerlyn Belarde. grandchildren, Anissa Trujillo, Jason Trujillo Jr., great grandson Jason Trujillo III, Quintin Trujillo, Izabella, Elias, Ariana Trujillo, Jack Avery and Autumn Phillips. He is also survived by four sisters, Janet Palomino, Inez Trujillo (Richard), Beverly Hayden (Gordon), Josefina Havens (Clarence), brothers, Robert Trujillo (Kimberly), Brent Trujillo (Jennifer), Joseph Trujillo, Mike Trujillo, Phillip Trujillo (Pashka).

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother, Anastacia (Tita) Trujillo, Father Esmael Trujillo and sister, Patricia. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Charlie spent many years in the armed forces (Army/RA) from Fort Ord, California to one year in South Korea, then stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. He was a 16P20 Chaparral Crewmember for 9 years and 2 months. He had Army Commendation, Arm Achievement, Good Conduct, and National Defense Service Medals, along with various ribbons and badges.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, horseback riding, carpentry, in reality he was a jack all trades, always willing to help when someone needed assistance. The one thing that Carol and Charlie enjoyed was RV Camping especially at the family reunions in Pecos, New Mexico. According to Carol he loved blue, and their many pets over the years, most recently their dogs Gracie, Hattie, and Pepe. Sadly, Charlie will be missed.

Graveside services are scheduled for February 3, 2023 at Ft. Lyon National Cemetery.
