Description: Michael Glen Pruyn June 5, 1968 - February 20, 2020

Michael Glen Pruyn, 51, of La Junta passed away on Feb. 20, 2020, at the University of Colorado Hospital Authority in Aurora. He was born on June 5, 1968, to Michael G. Pruyn & Gwen Herbst.

Mike lived his life full of excitement, he loved riding motorcycles, snow skiing, golf and was up for any kind of adventure with no fear. He was a perfectionist so most things he tried he was very successful at, especially his business Valley View Window. They say that those who burn the brightest burn the shortest and that was Mike. When he smiled he touched everyone, and he always had time for a conversation, because of that everyone felt like a friend. Mike’s dream was to live on a tranquil beach and so we know he waits for us there, but until we see him again he will be greatly missed by his loving wife Jeffri of 34 years and the light of his life his son Jake, who very much like his father is a very successful and an all-around amazing man. Mike touched many hearts and souls and we are forever grateful for the time we had him.

He is survived by his wife, Jeffri of the La Junta home; son, Jake Pruyn of La Junta; mother, Gwen Herbst of La Junta; nephews, Cody and Chase; nieces, Taylour and Talon; in-laws, Steve (Jana) Elliott and Dawnde Elliott of all of Denver; aunt, Kathi (Rick) Vito of Sequim, WA; uncles, Pat (Linda) Pruyn and Harry (Jane) Herbst all of Denver; Andrew (Ben) Herbst of Canada; numerous cousins and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael G. Pruyn.

As per Michael’s request cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.
