Rocky Ford Fire Dept VS Structure Fire on South 9th
Today at approximately 08:09am we were paged to a structure fire in the 600 block of South 9th street.
Upon arrival we found that the single story residential structure was rolling black smoke and fully engulfed in flames shortly after.
Mutual aid was requested from Manzanola Volunteer Fire Department and La Junta Fire Department.
Crews worked hard to protect adjacent structures from any fire exposure and were successful.
The residential structure is a total loss.
No injuries reported, although unfortunately a pet dog did not make it out of the residence.
Cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
