Obituary

 

Brenda L. Allard, 64, passed away April 13, 2024 in Pueblo, CO. She was born August 4, 1959 in La Junta to Robert & Maria Delores (Apodaca) Black.Brenda attended La Junta public schools. She was employed with the School District for several years, then at Safeway as a cake decorator. She attended church at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish and was a devoted Catholic.

Brenda was a very loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She loved spending time with her family and her fur babies Wedita and Taco Bell. Her laugh was contagious and brought joy to all who was around her. Brenda also enjoyed listening to all types of oldies music and watching the Price Is Right, On Patrol Live and her favorite soap operas.

We would like to thank Sangre de Cristo Hospice, Joni Fair Hospice House and Jereme Guerrero for his great care and compassion. Karen Burnham for prayers and support. Father Joseph Matitu for giving Brenda her Last Rights.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Deangelo) Lee of Surprise, AZ; sons, Nathan Allard of Liberal, KS and Ryan Palacio of La Junta; sister, Andrea (John) Salas of La Junta; brother, Michael Black of La Junta; grandchildren, Sharai Lee, Shayla Lee, and Deangelo Lee, II all of Surprise, AZ; Godson, Andrew Salas (Mindy Vigil) of Crowley, CO; nephews, Aaron (Tiffany) Salas of La Junta, Mike (Jennifer) Black of Flagstaff, AZ; great-nephews, Chris Salas of Pueblo, CO, Jesse Salas of La Junta, and Donovan Janssen of Crowley, CO; great-nieces, Katalina Salas of La Junta, Emma Salas, of La Junta, Zaelah Salas of Aurora, CO, and Cidnee Janssen of Crowley, CO; and a special friend, Margaret Medina.

 

Graveside service will be Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery in La Junta with Father Joseph Matitu officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
