Obituary

Rose Blotz, 88, of Rocky Ford died Friday, October 18, 2024 at the Crowley County Nursing Home in Ordway. Rose was born May 29, 1936 in Rocky Ford to Jake and Mary (Stricker) Lindt. She graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1954. On March 20, 1955 Rose married Byron Blotz in Rocky Ford. They moved to Nebraska to manage the family ranch located near Atkinson. Then in 1962 they moved to Stockton, California and then in 1965 back to Rocky Ford. Other than being a housewife and Mother, Rose had worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for State Farm, Dr. Martin, and at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center.

Rose was an avid Bridge player and also enjoyed playing Dominoes. She loved watching Football and Dancing With The Stars. She was instrumental, with other community members, with fundraising and the construction of the Grandstand at the Rocky Ford Fair Grounds. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rocky Ford.

She is survived by daughter Roxann (Dale) Blasi of Manhattan, KS, grandchildren Hunter Bullard of Seattle, WA, Brooke (Alex Rearick), Kade Bullard, step-granddaughter Lauren Bullard (David Johansen) and great-grandson Caulder all of Anchorage, AK and sister Carole Bauer of Sugar City. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Kenneth Lindt and Evelyn Grasmick.

Services Held on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 at 9:30am at Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Bellwood Ustick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
