Online Scholarships Applications due April 1 for Fall Semester

LA JUNTA — The 2021-2022 Online Scholarship Application is now available for students planning to enroll in Fall Semester 2021. The application deadline for most scholarships is April 1, 2021.

There are several scholarships available at Otero Junior College for incoming high school students, non-traditional first time students, and returning students.

Amber Asbury, financial aid director, said, “Students who are interested in attending OJC can find more information on the scholarships we have available, as well as information on how to apply, by visiting the Financial Aid page on the OJC website. The deadline to apply for many of these scholarships is April 1, so there are just a few more weeks to get your application completed and submitted.”

The Colorado Scholars 3.0 GPA Scholarship is also open with an application deadline of Aug. 1, 2021.The Colorado Scholars 3.0 GPA Scholarship awards recipients who are Colorado residents up to $1,000 for Fall Semester. There are two forms, one that is intended for incoming high school students and one for college transfer students and current OJC students. Applicants will submit the form, along with a high school or college transcript indicating that you have earned at least a 3.0 GPA. The scholarship is renewable up to four semesters, fall or spring, when a student continues to earn at least a 3.0 GPA at Otero Junior College.

Other scholarships include: the Agriculture 2.5 Scholarship, Cosmetology 2.5 and 3.0 Scholarships, CCCS Foundation Scholarships, The Jenny Bransteitter Memorial Scholarship which is open to OJC Women's Volleyball Athletes and the Martin Masar Memorial Scholarship for nursing students.
